Description: This is a beautiful hand painted picture of rose with a signature. From my research and testing, this is a brooch from the Art Nouveau era, 1890-1910, which was also called “La Belle Epoque” in French, which translates to “A Beautiful Time.” This is a nature piece. The Art Nouveau period happened before the start of the first World War, when mass manufacturing took over the production of many products, including some jewelry.
- Handmade during the Art Nouveau era in the Renaissance Revival style (I believe)
- Features a painting of a rose in red, pinks, and green
- A rope twist border surrounds the painting and is made of .800 silver
- Can be worn as a pendant on a necklace or a brooch
Condition: Good antique condition with normal metal oxidation which is common for the age as well as scuff marks and surface scratches. The glass in front of the painted flower may be crystal. Please see photos for exact details, as it is part of the condition description. I try to be more critical than the buyer would be. However, please keep in mind that “pre-owned” is not new, so please do not expect it to be brand new unless it is listed as such.
Special Photo Note: Colors maybe Lighter or Darker depending on your monitor, some photos have been lightened to show details of items.
